Marketing AssociateI’m Saija Paavola, and I work in marketing and communications here at ALMP. In February 2024, I joined ALMP as a Marketing Trainee straight out of school, and my skills in marketing and communications have taken a big leap over the past six months.
My tasks as a Marketing Trainee have mainly consisted of producing different materials, internal and external communications, and event management. My career at ALMP started with a six-week-long onboarding period, where we dove straight into the core aspects of the company's business—into the deep end of the financial sector, so to speak.
The best part about ALMP is the hands-on approach, opportunities for growth, and colleagues! You don’t need to be perfect when coming to work, but rather willing to learn and be yourself. At least here in marketing, our days and tasks can vary a lot—I’d describe that as a major benefit than just a good thing! In marketing, we work both collaboratively within the team and with other teams, but also independently from home via remote connections. The diversity of workdays and tasks, as well as collaboration, truly defines what it's like to work here in my opinion.
In my experience, people are not afraid to share responsibility or voice their thoughts. Even during the trainee period, we’ve had the opportunity to experiment and implement our own skills, while also sharing them in discussions with our experts. People genuinely listen to what you have to say, and this extends beyond just work-related topics.
I am happy to say that this place has offered more than just a job—it has provided a space within a community where individuals are valued and where one grows into their profession by doing and learning. As a young professional, this kind of environment helps in recognizing one's potential and identifying areas for development. My trainee period is coming to an end soon, but my career at ALMP continues in marketing.
